About this Westerly Conway

It was built in 1978 and is a center cockpit cruiser designed by Lauren Charles and built by Westerly Yachts in waterlooville Hampshire

The beautifully crafted interior gives it a classic feel with mahogany cabinetry

A robust and dependable yacht which would take you anywhere, a true blue water cruiser . This fine example has been spec’d for an intended crossing to Guadalupe with lots spent in recent years with bluewater cruising in mind making it an exciting prospect.

GRP white hull, decks and superstructure – blue stripe below the sheer line – decks fitted with blue treadmaster. Fin keel, wheel steering.

ACCOMODATION

The aft cabin has a double with its own heads.  Going forward there is a navigators berth. The saloon has a pull out double berth to port and a single to starboard. Forward of the saloon is the main heads and beyond that the forepeak has a double.

There is ample storage under the fore and aft cabin bunks and under the saloon seats.

Also in the aft cabin lockers.

 

OWNERS COMMENTS – SUMMARY OF WORK CARRIED ON BOAT

The  boat was purchased in May 2017

Headlining panels removed and refurbished and 6mm Armaflex added (insulation).  Internal hull linings in the aft cabin lifted cleaned and backed with Armaflex insulation.

2018

Hull gelcoat removed and hull washed until dry. Hull recoated with West epoxy.

Gas locker seal re-made, new flexible pipes and regulator ( Butane and Propane ) fitted.

Stern tube removed and new cutlass bearings fitted. Propeller was balanced and shaft straightened.

Genoa sheet winches replaced with new self tailing winches

All  The port lights were removed refurbished and re bedded.

Internal lighting replaced with new LED units

New exhaust elbow fitted together with a new exhaust tube.

2020

Stern tube and prop shaft removed.  Cutlass beariings replaced, shaft straightened and prop balanced

2021

A Hebridean wind vane made and mounting bracket fitted to the stern.

Intel Webasto fridge unit with water cooler fitted

New radar reflector fitted

 

2022

Calorifier replaced with new 75 liter unit.  It has 2 hot water coils, one connected to the engine and one for a diesel water heater .  There is also an electric heater element, not connected.

Cooker fully refurbished – Marine Systems Engineering

Butane gas bottles replaced with propane bottles

New Rutland 914i wind generator fitted.

Marlec HRDi fitted with connection to detachable solar panels

New spray hood and Bimini with enclosures fitted to boat.

New fuling gear fitted – Plastimo

New baby stay fitted

New main, mizzen and Genoa fitted – Sanders Sails

New Sat Comms fitted – Iridium GO

New Raymarine network added to boat. Axiom 12RV, Raymarine AIS 650 and Ray 63 VHS units are connected to this network.  The older seatalk network has the Autohelm, speed log and wind instruments on it.

All the receipts and manuals are  available for the recent work and the manuals are available for most of the original equipment on the bot when I bought her.
